5 Seconds Rule
If you don’t take an action, the brain kills the idea instantly. The monkey mind doesn’t like to walk out of the comfort zone. Counting in reverse orders helps in coming to the present moment. 5-4-3-2-1. Just do it once..
One of the participants of the cohort, Aklank, one of the coolest seniors, filled up the form within five minutes. He didn’t even go through the T&C. He wanted to develop his writing habit. He has been writing consistently for the past 15 days. You can find a few of his articles here. He used this simple 5 minutes rule. If you can get something done straight away, why procrastinate?
The toughest part of any change is getting started. The trick to change is to use this 5 seconds rule. 4 out of 5 peoples found that getting started solves the majority of the procrastination problem. Why do we procrastinate?
Our monkey doesn’t like unpleasant change. Developing a productive habit isn’t pleasant at the beginning. We cannot do unpleasant things for a longer duration. That’s where the atomic steps help. A simple trick but still we don’t implement it.
If you are still procrastinating to fill up the form, today is the last day. You can access the form here….
Cheers to the cohort members for continuing the Tiny Project for 15 days!
